Making things makes us human.
And right now, trapped inside, away from our communities, it can be easy to lose sight of the things that make us us. This is a space for creatives and non-creatives alike to make and share while we get through the COVID-19 crisis.
Use this as an excuse to make that thing you always wanted to. Or maybe submitting something becomes a daily practice. Maybe this is the nudge to finish that one thing you started. Or finally learn to… knit? Who knows!
It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece. It can be a doodle on the back of a paper towel, a work-in-progress, a thought you scribbled in the middle of the night. We’re all trapped inside with an unexpected amount of time on our hands — get creative!
How it works:
Make things. Anything. Write, cook, make music, write a story, write a one sentence poem, make a short video, take a photo, paint, draw, sew, design, woodwork, cut your roommates hair… whatever your creative outlet is, do that.
If what you make isn’t digital, take a photo of it.
Send your work, a photo of your work, or a photo of you at work to bridgette.bugay@gmail.com along with:
Name as you would like it to appear (or submit as “Anonymous”)
Very short description (150 characters or less)*
Website or social media handle*
Your work will magically appear on the community scroll.
That’s it! You created in the time of COVID.
Go forth and doodle.
